Do Betta’s fins get better as they grow and/or in time?
Alright, I bουɡһt another betta today. Hе′s a white аחԁ purple veiltail. I tһіחk һе′s fаіrƖу unique.
I’m јυѕt bothered wіtһ һіѕ finnage. I tһіחk tһаt іt іѕ חοt tһаt flared whenever һе swims οr whatever һе ԁοеѕ. Hіѕ fins аrе јυѕt straight аחԁ һіѕ tail іѕ mostly folded.

Well I’m not sure what you mean with the fins, but try putting a mirror in front of him to make him flare.
Most petshop bettas are veiltails, I am guessing that’s what yours is? Anyway most of the time their tails are long and droopy but when they flare it should be more attractive.
The fins will get longer as he gets older but I don’t know what you mean by “better”.
Can you get a picture? Or find one that looks similar?

i have a betta right now to and his fins used to be like that. Give the fish time and the fins will get better.
Sounds like clamped fins, a sign of a fish with possible disease. If he still has clamped fins the next day, return it for a healthier one.
That is a pretty color though I myself prefer pure white ^^ You just got your betta, he’s been living in maybe a tenth of a gallon for who knows how long, he’s not very healthy yet. Give him time, he’ll grow healthier and his tail and fins should start looking nicer soon. Make sure to feed him a variety of foods, to keep his water clean, and provide a 5+ gallon tank for him etc… you know the basics XD In time he’ll become the picture of health with nice beautiful fins if you make sure to take care of him properly. I recently got my betta, he ended up shredding his fins in a filter, he’s healing now and even after being shredded his tail looks much better than before
Most veil tails fins mostly stay straight down or droopy. Google image veil tail and compare them to half moon bettas. A half moon may be the betta image you have in your head of what your wanting him to look like. Half moons tails don’t get as long as veil tails giving them a more attractive look. Good luck.
